Winter Woodland Dessert Table

November 17, 2013

Wow, I can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve written anything! Let’s just say things have been very busy since I was last here. Thankfully, the name change was warmly welcomed by my customers, family, and friends, and I am so glad that everyone likes it so much. And can you believe the holidays are already upon us? For me, once October goes by, the next two to three months just fly–and here we are, nearing Thanksgiving and heading straight for Christmas. I personally love this time of the year–it’s cold (or at least it’s supposed to be; L.A. has been warmer than usual), and it just gets exciting.

Anyway, I have several projects that I have been meaning to share, and I promise that I will get to it before the end of the year. But first, I really couldn’t wait to share this Winter inspired photo shoot; I like to call it my “Winter Woodland” dessert table; sort of a spin on the whole “Winter Wonderland” concept, but more nature-inspired. I had this idea to do a total Woodland inspired table but completely Winterized (I might be making that word up, but it fits very well…so I shall use it). I wanted to go with a mostly neutral color palette to keep it soft, so I went with a metallic silver with whites and creams, and just a pop of light blue. I added snowy branches, birch bark, snowy pine cones, and really carried out a snowflake and feather theme throughout the desserts and setup. I am so thrilled with how it came out!

The table definitely would not have been the same without the most gorgeous display pieces from Minted & Vintage. The owner, Aracely (and the most amazing sweets stylist), helped me choose such beautiful pieces, including milk glass cake stands and vintage clear pieces; they are stunning on their own and they perfectly displayed my desserts. All around, this was such a fun shoot to work on, and of course made even more fun since my very good friend Candace shot the entire thing. I will never ask anyone but her to shoot my desserts; her attention to detail and unique camera angles are so amazing, I am always in awe of her work. I am definitely looking forward to working on more dessert table shoots with both of these gals; it’s so much fun!

But for now…here is a Winter Woodland dessert table for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

A huge thank you goes to my lovely friend and photographer Candace, and to the amazing Aracely of Minted & Vintage.
